Our brake pads and discs are all OE quality and will not invalidate your vehicle warranty if an independent garage fits them. OE quality simply means that our parts have been recognised as ‘original equipment’ or the same as genuine.

Block Exemption Certificates

Can I use discs and pads from Wilco Direct to fix my vehicle?

In short yes, It used to be the case that motorists were required to have their vehicle serviced and repaired at a main dealer, or risk having their vehicle warranty invalidated.

This lack of choice often meant that main dealers could charge a premium for their services. This changed when the EC Block Exemption Regulation was introduced in 2003 by the European Commission.

This exemption ruled that, providing the parts used met OE quality standards, motorists were free to take their vehicle to an independent garage for fitting, resulting in more choice, more competition and fairer prices.

Independent garages are often capable of carrying out the same work as the main dealer but it is important that they adhere to the same service terms and conditions stipulated by the main dealer.

This is the upside of using OE quality parts that have met the same rigorous testing as the originals your vehicle was manufactured with.

That said, using a main dealer does have its perks as having a service stamped on your full service history helps to retain the value of your vehicle. Always seek advice from a professional if you are unsure.
